Exhibition Reviews:

BYE BYE BOG;
Signal Arts Centre, Bray.
Through the use of Acrylics, Oils and Peat, Redmond captures the rich beauty of Irelands natural landscape in textural pieces. The artist reflects the transient relationship between Man and Bog, the changing nature of the terrain as aresult of enviromental impact and the tenuous future of these fragile regions. Originally from Edenderry, Couty Offaly, Redmond says he has grown up surrounded by and working on the bog. His claim that the bog is in his veins is apparent in these emotive, vibrant pieces.
Susan Morrell, The Sunday Business Post  April 10 2011.

HOME TRUTHS;
Aras an chontae,Tullamore,Co. Offaly
The works are based on the midland bog and waterways where the artist grew up.His paintings highlight the unique landscapes / waterways of the surrounding area portraying the transient natureof this enviroment through weather, light and season.
Irish Arts Review, March 2011.

REFLECT;

Willie Redmond's round paintings are based on reflections in water and the memory spaces the evoke.

Artist Outlook

My work deals with familiar subjects but shown in a unique style. Light, heat, movement, shade, mood are all conveyed through the use of colour combinations. Some of my work deals with subjects in a narrative style depicting mood, texture, movement, detail, compositions, lines, and rhythms. These are combined to produce a rhapsody style narrative. Observing the essence of our surroundings allows me to portray life in a unique and distinctive way. My colour pallet is specially selected to convey the mood of the picture. Perception, observation, investigation, curiosity and a need for communicating, combined with passion is what drives me to produce Art.

My Equipment

The artist uses the highest standard of artist materials available. This ensures the quality and integrity of the work produced. This applies to canvases, stretched and board, panels primed and sized. Paints are tried and tested to attain the results required. Work when complete and fully dry is varnished and protected ensuring a lifetime of appreciation and viewing.
