Parkscapes
The work deals with familiar subjects but shown in the artists unique style.
Light, heat, movement, shade, mood are all conveyed through the use of colour combinations.
As the light changes on the pieces, the elements within the pieces shift As a result the pieces change with seasons and time of day (hence keeping the work fresh on each viewing).
Larger pieces are on block canvas and do not require framing, the edges are painted and so give an optical effect of depth and movement as you move around the pieces. This also allows the work to hang in any location contemporary or traditional. (some works are multi-panelled and fill larger rooms and halls.)
Landscapes
Presented in a narrative style of diptychs and polytychs.
Panaromaic views of landscapes are the subject matter. Each panel is carefully set out to create a balanced composition of light, colour, texture, movement and details of these landscapes. It is like taking in a one mile square landscape and combining it with the one metre square details at your feet. (Walking and watching, comparing and contrasting) Open scenes combined with details of trees, grasses, pools and water are the main format for the scenes. A sense of everywhere and nowhere shines through the details used and engage with all viewers as a result.
Highly technical in approach with draughtsmanship, brushwork, texture, composition to the fore. Awareness and familiarity of subject combined with acute observation and passion involved show through in the work. Most are linear square or rectangular formats, but some are presented as challenging round canvases bravely handled.

Round Paintings
Round canvases based on water details and reflections and assoiciated areas beside watercourses. Presented in narrative diptych and polytych styles, based on watercourses from urban to rural. Appeal and engagement lies in universal depiction of Waterways and the memory spaces evoked. Location is not obvious, detail and draughtsmanship to the fore in holding the viewer. Balance is achieved by weights of movement and mood in each segment.
The challenge of composition with round formats is unique to the body of work.
The pieces also change with light conditions allowing mood, depth, surface and textures to work of each other keeping the work fresh and open.
